Our Mission

IFASCO commits itself to achieving its vision through the following attributes:

  • ~ Providing adequate practical learning system,
  • ~ Conducting cutting edge community based participatory research projects,
  • ~ Youth development,
  • ~ Provision pf testable innovative solution.

IFASCO was initiated in 2017 to curb the exclusion of the previously disadvantaged University applicants due to their inability to meet the APS scores (candidates with a deficit of the APS which was less than five points were accepted to be the part of the programme), the candidates were then given the full time schooling setup to upgrade their grade 12 results ( attended daily from Monday to Friday 8am-14:30),and allowed access to the university's laboratory and computer facilities, due to the hard work and the tenacity displayed by both the students and the facilitators the programme produced the 97,48% pass rate for the academic year 2017 and 78,35% of our 2017 candidates were absorbed into the Nelson Mandela University system as students and all of them were funded through NSFAS.

Due to the popularity of the programme in the Eastern Cape particularly in the Nelson Mandela Bay , our enrolment increased to about 768 candidates in 2018 as opposed to 2017 candidates in 2017, in order to manage the sharp increase in numbers , IFASCO satellite centres were formed in various townships around the Nelson Mandela Bay, this include the Izinyoka learning centre and the Uitanage learning centre our centres collectively produced 83,4% for the academic year 2018.Presently IFASCO functions independently and has its main campus in Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng.

Tools of analysis : Special emphasis is on curriculum delivery as well as the frequent assessments, our facilitators carefully follow the CAPS document , and our candidates are assessed on a monthly basis through the tutorials, tests, assignments and exams. Analysis of results are normally communicated to the parents as the integral stakeholders of the programme.
